KIDS INTRO TO ACTING

Ages: 6-10 Join the theater professionals at Inspire Theater Company for an introduction to the basics of acting. Through games, simple scene-work, and short monologues kids will get to explore how actors use their voices, bodies, facials expressions, and more to bring stories to life on stage. Perfect for kids of all experience levels. The week will end in a showcase on Friday. ADVANCED ACTING

Ages: 13-18 Advanced Acting is a fun and exciting exploration of advanced acting skills. Students will dive into advanced scene work, audition readiness, how to work with a director in shaping scenes, how improv ties into rehearsals and performance, all while exploring the difference between performing live on stage and acting in front of a camera for film. TECHNICAL THEATER BOOT CAMP

Ages: 13-18 Led by theater professionals, this bootcamp will be an exploration of technical theater. Each day will cover a separate discipline and will build the students understanding of current technology and design practices, and provide practical hands-on experience using the technology in the PACE Center’s Mainstage Theater. The camp will culminate with students assisting professional staff in running technical equipment for Dylan’s Down with the Arts Summer Theater performance on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Provider: Parker Arts Location: PACE Center Fee: $270 R/$297 NR 31684 M-F, July 26–30, 1:00–5:00pm (Friday class time will run until 8:00pm)

PARKER ON BROADWAY

Ages: 8-14 Come join the musical theater professionals at Inspire Theater Company and experience musical theater just like Broadway! Students will build skills in singing and acting while exploring songs, choreography, and scenes from Broadway musicals. Students will learn how to create characters while singing and moving with confidence! Students should come dressed to move (dance shoes recommended). The week will end in a showcase on Friday. IMPROV FRENZY

Ages: 9-18 PTA’s summer improv is a fun, fast-paced, and exciting jump into the world of improv for both experienced and new students! Students will learn the basics of improv, including “Yes, and…” trusting your instincts, teamwork, “group mind,” and the importance of listening. Students will learn the tools to play strong characters and develop good scene work, all through the power of play! The week will end with a showcase on Friday. SUMMER TEEN MUSICAL THEATER INTENSIVE

Ages: 12-18 Looking for a summer class for teens that are serious about performing arts? This is it! Work with the area’s leading professionals in this highly challenging and fun summer intensive for teens. Students will learn choreography, sing harmonies, and learn songs and scenes from their favorite musicals, all while furthering their musical theater craft. Students should come dressed to move (dance shoes recommended). The week will end in a showcase on Friday.
